Dealing with Anxiety

this post was written April 3rd, 2025

Lots of people experience Anxiety nowadays. For me, It's that pressure in my chest, the feeling of impending doom and restlessness that can make my body shake, by breath shorten, my mind go blank in the worse of situations. I am pretty sure some people deal with this on the daily and I have come here to tell you how I deal with it.

Ways to avoid it

The first thing is to try and avoid situations that can cause you anxiety. As how we say here in spain, “It’s better to prevent than to heal”. If you think you might be about to go into a situation that gets you anxious, walk out of it if you can. It helps lots just taking this prevention step and it has saved my mind and body from lots of situations that I might have found stressful. I am not saying to walk out of everything, but it’s best if you know yourself, try avoiding these kinds of situatons.

Dealing with it my way

Dealing with an anxiety attack can be very hard, and most people just walk into drugging themselves out of it which is the worse way possible around it and is not going to fix the issue. Anxiety causes your heart rate to go up, and this causes anxiety to grow too in some cases. The first step is to feel your toes, then, slowly relax them, it can be hard at first but you will get it sooner or later. Then relax your legs, your belly, chest, arms, hands and neck. Relax your whole body. Start taking soft, long breaths and soft and long exhales. Let the anxiety get exhaled out along with the CO2. It also helps to drink warm drinks like tea. Put on your favorite music, sit down, drink your tea, relax your muscles, and feel how everything arround you is okay. You are okay. Feel all the anxiety, guilt, stress, whatever you have in your mind melt away.

My experience with anxiety

Anxiety has been a part of my life since the year of 2020, with the coronavirus threatening so many people, I began feeling anxiety for myself and for my loved ones, this only advanced and advanced inside of me, anxiety began appearing with people, like for example my ex girlfriend whom when I was typing this post sent me a text that spiked my system with tons of anxiety. It is okay to feel these kinds of emotions. And deal with them, let the memories flow out of your system as I have told you before. Live your life to the fullest, because it’s there for you to enjoy it. Don’t dig too deep into your own past, just learn from it.
